Published papers and patents
Lance has authored research published through the Defense Technical Information Center (DTIC) and the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA).
He is also an inventor on a U.S. patent involving adaptive data compression and transmission techniques.
Alesia Engineering, LLC, is a woman- and minority-owned small business. Our goal is to build operationally relevant prototype solutions to enable proactive decisions and improve Space Battle Management functions against a sophisticated adversary.
Our employees have over two decades of experience in research and development for government solutions in classified and unclassified areas, and deep familiarity with the current challenges in space domain awareness. We offer a critical piece to the larger space domain awareness solution. Most importantly, we actively seek direct feedback from space warfighters to assess the viability of our approach with hands-on engagement and transparency into our algorithms and vetting.
Alesia Engineering was an active participant in the SDA TAP Lab Apollo Accelerators Cohorts 6–8.

About the name
The Alesia Engineering name was inspired by the Battle of Alesia in 52 BC, one of the most important battles of the Gallic Wars.
The battle took place near the fortified hill town of Alesia, in what is now modern France. On one side stood Caesar’s Roman legions—disciplined, heavily armed, and masters of military engineering. On the other was a coalition of Gallic tribes led by Vercingetorix of the Arverni, who sought to end Roman domination. Caesar’s army built two strategic walls—an inner wall to trap the Gauls inside, and an outer wall to repel Gallic reinforcements. The dual fortification was a feat of Roman engineering and strategy.
The Roman victory at Alesia brought all of Gaul under Roman control. Politically and symbolically, it cemented Caesar’s reputation as one of history’s greatest military commanders, and set the stage for the beginning of the Roman Empire.
